Visiting the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank

I visited the Greater Pittsbrugh Food Bank Center. I conducted an interview Lisa and Ann there. I looked around the center and listened to what they have been doing and what is the influence of this financial crisis on their work. It was a staggeringly precious experience for me to look into the Pittsburgh local community. I appreciate their efforts for providing basic needs to the communities. Lisa gave me some informatioin of a public school that needs help and support. Jessy, a public school teacher at the Duquesne School District, has been committed to helping students and working together with Food Bank. She has been calling for supports for kids in her school. Jessy would be a proper person Pennies With Purpose contacts and finds a way PWP puts the efforts into practice and makes its plan be implemented.

Meetng with Pittsburgh Public School Students

I visited Wilkinsburgh Middle/High School as a guest speaker. I gave two presentations on Korea to Wilkinsburgh Middle/High School students. This is organized by World Affairs Council, a nonprofit organizatins that is involving in helping public schools get exposed to global and community issues. It was an interesting experience for me to meet Pittsbugh public school students. Wilkinsburgh is one of low income neighbrhoods that are going through an econoimc downturn for a long period time. It was an intriguing moment through which I got some sense of Pittsburgh public school system in the field.
